PISA 2022
PISA is an independent international comparison study of 15-year-olds’ knowledge and skills in mathematics, science and reading and provides participating countries with a robust assessment of performance changes over time and across different education systems. Pupils in Northern Ireland have participated in PISA since the study’s inception in 2000. During October and November 2022 2,384 15-year-old pupils from 80 schools in Northern Ireland took part in PISA, overall 81 countries / economies including Northern Ireland participated.
Publication of the International and National PISA Reports
The PISA 2022 Northern Ireland National Report.pdf (education-ni.gov.uk), The PISA 2022: National Report for England (publishing.service.gov.uk) and The PISA 2022: National Report for Wales (gov.wales) were each published concurrently with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) PISA 2022 international results volume 1 PISA 2022 Results (Volume I): The State of Learning and Equity in Education | en | OECD on 5 December 2023.
Webinar
A webinar was held on 24 January 2024 on the results of the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in Northern Ireland. The webinar was delivered by the University of Oxford Centre for the Evaluation of Educational Assessment (OUECA).
